BMW Z8 model cars are produced by AutoArt, Bburago and Maisto. The Model Cars are 1:18 scale. The AutoArt BMW Z8 pictured above is a highly detailed model car that accurately recreates the classic sleek flowing sportcar lines of the BMW Z8.
Under the model car's opening boot lies a replica of the BMW V8 5.0 liter 394 hp M engine (the same engine used in the BMW M5) that launches the real BMW Z8 from 0-60mph in an impressive 4.7 seconds, and giving a top speed of 155mph.
First appeared as the Z07 concept car at the Tokyo auto show in 1997, this open-top, two seater roadster owes much of its styling to the classic sports car, but under the skin bristles with the latest technology. The Z8 stars as James Bond's car in one of the recent James Bond films, "The World Is Not Enough". The BMW Z8 has the proportions of a classic roadster - long bonnet, tapered tail, short overhangs front and rear and a strictly two-seater cockpit. The look of the car, with its shark's gills side air vents, unmistakable front kidney grille and luxurious curves are strongly reminiscent of the classic 1950s sports car, the BMW 507, which has been hailed as one of the most beautiful cars ever built.
