Lotus Esprit model cars are produced by AutoArt, Minchamps and RC2/Ertl. These three manufactures of diecast model cars produce various versions. The RC2/Ertl and AutoArt Model Cars are 1:18 scale, and the Minichamps is 1:43 scale. The RC2/Ertl Lotus Esprit pictured above is a highly detailed model car accurately recreates the sleek lines and sophistication of the Lotus Esprit that featured in the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me", and actually converts from car to sub!.
Under the model car's opening boot lies a replica of the 160bhp 16 valve 2 litre, Lotus 907 engine that launches the real Lotus Esprit from 0-60mph in an impressive (for it's time) 8.6 seconds.

This baby Lotus is also based on the James Bond Film version, but the currently available model depicts only the submarine mode.
Later versions of the Esprit sport a Lotus designed 3.5 litre twin turbocharged V8 engine, good for a 4.8-second zero to 60 time and a 175 mph top speed. It might give the James Bond 007 Aston Martin Vanquish or James Bond "Die Another Day" Jaguar XKR Roadster some stiff competition.
